<datacite:description descriptionType="Other">Applying the notion of "Grammatical Gravitation," which serves as the
syntactic centre of the sentential structure, it is demonstrated how the so-
called "Basic Order" is operationally ascertained in Sgaw Karen, one of the
linguistic minorities in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, an attempt is made to clarify the rather obscure relationship between the use of clause-final "modal" particles and averb-medial syntax, which are said to be "inhamonious" with each other according to Greenbergean universals.</datacite:description>
