Various explanations about it are given, however the cause is not known well yet. This paper describes measurement of the elastohydrodynamic film of the water glycol hydraulic fluid by the observation method with a micro FT-lR. lt is found that the concentration of water and glycol changed at the inlet of the EHL contact region. The concentration change was influenced by the molecular weight or polyglycols,the slip ratio, and the composition of the fluids.
