ESR spectrum of CdS : Mn is ascribed to the superposition of the hyperfine spectra due to an exchange-coupled Mn2+ ion pair and an isolated Mn2+ ion ; other four samples (ZnS : Mn etc.) give hyperfine spectra ascribed to a pair of exchange-coupled Mn2+ ion with no or negligible spectrum due to an isolated Mn2+ ion. Does it mean that ZnS : Mn has larger mole fraction of Mn2+ ions than CdS : Mn?
