The period of the former is shorter than that of the latter and is just a half of the Galactic rotational period. Hence, we can regard the Galactic rotation as rigid body rotation in its center region. This is consistent with the usually accepted density distribution of gas. Particles which are rushed out by shock waves go on the Galactic disk and tend to come up with some of them after a certain time. Then the rotational curve is deformed remarkably.
