| 内容記述 | It is known that the ordinary regression line seems not always to be a trend line of best fit for the corresponding two quantities when their correlation between them is no good considerably, or the points plotted in a scatter diagram are distributed near along the coordinate axis of the diagram. In this paper, a method· of evaluating such a trend line that may always be regarded as the best fit in such cases will be given by using a quantity which is called "perpendicular deviation" in place of the "residuals," and discussed by showing a proper example for the method. | |||||||
