内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 This paper considers the origin of the ordinary people who supported the Hiraizumi culture. The paternal side of the Oshu Fujiwara clan in the 12th century was of aristocratic descent, but their maternal ancestors were considered to be local Emishi( 蝦夷). Archaeologically, the Emishi( 蝦夷) have been considered to be people who originated from the Jomon culture. After the Oshu-Seibatsu( 奥州征伐) in the latter half of the 12th century, it was thought that “Japanese ethnicization” progressed in the northern Tohoku region. However, recent archaeological findings have revealed that the ancient people of the northern Tohoku region do not necessarily originate from the Jomon culture. Therefore, in this paper, the author would like to consider the cultural genealogy of the ancient people of the northern Tohoku region from an archaeological perspective and talk about the origin of the ordinary people who supported the Hiraizumi culture. The subject of the study will be from the 4th century, when the post-Jomon culture was widely distributed in the northern Tohoku region, to the beginning of the 9th century, when Isawa-jo(胆沢城) Castle, an institution of the ancient Japanese government, was built. We will also use archaeological materials to examine the records in the Shoku Nihongi(続日本紀) which describe the war between the Emishi (蝦夷)army led by Aterui (アテルイ)and the ancient Japanese army in the late 8th century. As a result, we will make it clear that the origins of the bearers of Hiraizumi culture, that is, the people of northern Tohoku, do not lie in the local Jomon culture, but in the genealogy of the Kofun culture, a Japanese- speaking culture.
