| 内容記述 | Muryōkō-in Ato are the remains of a temple built by Hidehira, the third head of the Oshu Fujiwara clan, modelled on the Phoenix Hall of Byodo-in Temple in Uji. Excavations in 2011 uncovered the remains of a stage on the eastern edge of the island where the Amida Hall is located. In the Taima Mandala, there is a depiction of a stage in front of the island where the Amida Triad sits, and it is believed that the remains of the stage at the site of Muryokoin Temple represent this stage. Muryōkō-in Ato are thought to have followed the Byodo-in Phoenix Hall’s Amida-do architecture and the expression of the garden space, including the pond, and included a stage and brick in order to embody the Amida Pure Land in this world. |
