| 内容記述 | We amplified and analyzed the nucleotide sequence of the gene for the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit II (COII gene; 702 bp) of sea firefly Vargula hilgendorfii collected at Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture. The results obtained from 15 specimens showed that the sequences of the gene in eight specimens were completely identical, while those in seven had base substitutions. The results also showed that the base substitutions were found in 10 sites in the gene, two of which changed codons resulting in amino acid substitutions. Vargula hilgendorfii would be useful material for learning about PCR amplification, mutation and genetic variation. | |||||||||||||
