As a result, the forest roads in the vicinity or a range of approximately 100 cm from the ground to the damage point incur heavy damage; further, severe damage is caused when the bucking process is conducted outside the cutting area. The damage due to the abovementioned reasons is similar to the damage caused by uphill and downhill yarding. The damage due to line thinning is lesser than that due to point thinning in the inner cutting area, and the damage due to point thinning lower than line outside cutting area.
