| 内容記述 | The dynamics of a cool-temperate mixed natural forest were studied for 12 years，from 1991 to 2003 on an 8.91 ha plot at the Ohtakizawa Research Site，the Omyojin Experimental Forest of Iwate University. At the beginning of the period，many trees were killed by a typhoon disturbance in 1991，and the stem density gradually decreased after the disturbance. The mortality and recruitment rates were 1.36 % yr-1 and 0.32 % yr-1，respectively，and the turnover time was 119 years. By 2003，the basal area had been restored to the value before the typhoon disturbance; the loss and gain rates in the basal area during the 12 years were 0.81 % yr-1 and 0.85 % yr-1，respectively. The species group with high mortality and high recruitment was comprised of tree species with small maximum DBH, while the species group with low mortality and low recruitment was comprised of tree species with large maximum DBH. Relative frequency of standing dead trees was negatively correlated with DBH. In contrast, relative frequencies of stemdamaged and uprooted trees were not correlated with DBH. Stem-damaged and uprooted trees occupied 50 % of the number of dead trees 66 % of the basal area. Species composition of recruited trees was different from that of the original forest in 1991. Especially，Acanthopanax sciadophylloides，Prunus grayana， Pterocarya rhoifolia，Styrax obassia，etc. were remarkably recruited in canopy gaps. |
