trifloraとG.scabraの種内および種間の変異性を明らかにするため, G.scabra4系統, G.triflora6系統, 両種の交配種3系統およびG.triflora同士の交配種2系統の合計15系統を用いRAPD法により解析した.用いた36個のプライマーのうち, 8個のプライマーで53の多型を示すバンドが得られ, 種間変異と同様に種内変異が存在していた.数量化理論III類およびクラスター分析を行った結果, 用いた系統はG.scabraとG.trifloraの2群に分かれた.ただし, G.scabraの1系統Oz(尾瀬系)のみはG.trifloraのグループに属した.また, 両種の交配系統(G.scabra×G.triflora)はG.scabraと同じグループに属した.次に, 両種を識別するためのSCAR(Sequence Characterized Amplified Regin)マーカー化を試みた.それぞれの種に最も特異的な多型バンドの塩基配列を決定し, 新たな2組のSCARプライマーをデザインした.これらのプライマーのうちG. trifloraに特異的なものは, 同種および同種内の交配系統8系統のうち6系統で特異断片を増幅し, G. scabraに特異的なプライマーは, RAPD法で疑問が出ているOzを除きすべての系統で特異断片を安定して増幅した.これらのSCARプライマーについては, さらに多くの系統を調査してその安定性を明らかにする必要があるが,
