The temperature field in the FGM hollow hemisphere is obtained by solving the transient heat conduction problem in a multilayered hollow hemisphere by means of the introduction of Legendre transformation method and a new orthogonal relation of the eigenfunction with the discontinuous-weighting function for multilayer regions.
