| 内容記述 | This study will examine the effects of pictures on EEL reading comprehension and the understanding of an Endish story, focusing on the relationship between pictures and words. The reason why the author put the focus on the effect of pictures on EFL reading comprehension is that the author realized picttues were helpful in the understanding of the text through the experience of translating English picture books, and found some interesting relationships between the pictures and the words. In the author's opinion, the relationship will relate readers' understanding of English and the stories. In thee xperiment, a picture book witten in English is used as the material, and the understanding of the story in the case of reading the text with pictures is compared to the understanding in the case of reading the text without pictures. Japanese EEL college students, Who seemed to have enough Enghsh proficiency and reading skills, participated. The author expects to find out the effects that pictures have on the understanding of the English story, and the efective use of pictures in reading materials for EFL learners. |
