| 内容記述 | 日本における草地の多くは，人為によって維持されてきた里山的景観である。近年，草地利用の低下により，消失の危機を迎えている。草地の一種である「茅場」は，茅葺屋根の材料採取地として，維持されてきた。現在伝統的景観としての茅葺屋根建築の見直しの中で，「茅場」の維持，創出も必要とされるようになっている。岩手県金ヶ崎町では，NPO，行政，企業の協働に基づいて，屋根材としてのススキを商品化し，茅場の造成に成功した。 しかしながら，生態系保全と商品化の間には部分的にトレードオフの関係があり，十分に注意が必要である。 |

| 内容記述 | Many grasslands in Japan are artificially maintained bucolic landscapes. We recently have been faced with the crisis of their disappearance due to a decline in their utilization. Hayfields, a type of grassland, have come to be maintained as a place for the gathering of materials used in thatched roofs. Amid the current reexamination of thatched roof construction in the creation of traditional scenery, the maintenance of hayfields and their creation has come to be regarded as necessary. Kanagawasaki Town, Iwate Prefecture, has successfully commoditized miscanthus sinensis as a roofing material and created hayfields. However, there is a partial tradeoff between this commoditization and the maintenance of ecosystems, so sufficient care is necessary. | |||||||
